Wake-up call to drivers this weekend

A young man was lucky to walk away from a crash with only minor injuries after falling asleep at the wheel today.

Emergency services responded to the single vehicle crash on the Copper Coast Highway at Paskeville about 3.20pm on Friday 24 January.

The car had left the road and gone under a tree.

The driver, a 20-year-old man from the northern suburbs, sustained only minor injuries.

Police want this crash to be a wake-up call for all drivers this weekend.

SA Police are taking part in a National Day of Action today with other police organisations across the country to spread the message that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Police are also conducting a road safety operation this long weekend and urge everyone to take regular rest breaks and not to drink and/or take drugs before getting behind the wheel.
