Officers from Arson Squad are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a fire at a home in Walliston on Saturday, 25 March 2023.
About 9.50am, Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) were called to a home located on Stanhope Road. The fire caused extensive damage to the home before being extinguished.
An examination of the fire scene by Arson Squad officers indicate the fire was deliberately lit. The offender(s) gained entry to the home and forced open a gun safe – stealing firearms, various power tools and cash before setting the house alight.
