Wanted Queensland man arrested in New South Wales

Ferny Grove detectives are working with the New South Wales Police Force following the arrest of a wanted 27-year-old Queensland man overnight.

The 27-year-old man was arrested in Sydney in relation to other offences allegedly committed within New South Wales.

Once these matters are finalised in New South Wales, Queensland Police will apply for the man’s extradition back to Queensland in relation to ongoing investigations.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said this was a good outcome for both New South Wales and Queensland.

“From what we understand, NSW Police acted swiftly in apprehending and arresting this man in relation to other offences committed overnight.

“Once their court proceedings are finalised, Queensland Police will be equally swift in applying for the man’s extradition to Queensland, where he’s wanted in relation to numerous alleged weapons and arson offences across Brisbane in early April,” Detective Massingham said.

While court proceedings are underway in New South Wales, it would be inappropriate to provide further comment.
