Wentworth Lane to close temporarily, as roundabout project reaches final stages

Orange City Council is approaching the next construction milestone of the Woodward- Wentworth roundabout.

From Wednesday 1 May traffic flow through the site will change again to allow the final sections of the new roundabout to be built.

The key changes for drivers : from Wednesday, Wentworth Lane will be temporarily closed at the Woodward Street intersection.

There will be no traffic access to or from Wentworth Lane at Woodward Street.

PROGRESS : The Woodward-Wentworth St roundabout is almost complete.

The new traffic pattern, which will have one lane of traffic in either direction driving through the site on Woodward St, will be in place for approximately 5 weeks, weather permitting.

At the completion of this stage, in mid-June, the roundabout will be open and will be fully operational.

There will be ongoing finishing works, including hot mix asphalting of the roundabout approaches, landscaping and concrete footpaths construction.

Site managers are asking residents to be patient when driving through the road detours, entering or exiting your driveway and to follow the direction of the traffic control signs and staff on site.

Traffic detours will be in place.
