The Department of Health has reported no new cases of COVID-19 overnight in WA.
The State’s total remains 1020.
WA Health is monitoring two active cases of COVID-19 – 1009 people have recovered from the virus in WA.
WA Health yesterday issued advice for travellers who have recently returned from New South Wales after a new locally acquired COVID case was identified in that state.
All people who have arrived into WA from New South Wales from 9 to 16 June are asked to check the exposure sites on the NSW Health website.
WA’s Chief Health Officer, Dr Andrew Robertson, said anyone who had visited the exposure sites at the specified times should get tested immediately for COVID-19, quarantine for 14 days from the date of exposure and then present for a day 11 COVID-19 test.
Yesterday, 662 people were swabbed at WA Health COVID clinics.
There have been 1,252,056 COVID-19 tests performed in WA. Of those, 159,556 were from regional WA.

To date, 97 cases of variant strains have been detected in Western Australia – 53 of the Alpha (UK variant) strain, 15 of the Beta (South African variant) strain, one of the Gamma (Brazilian variant) strain and 28 of the Delta (Indian variant) strain.
