Wet Weather - Impacted roads and Council Services, Tuesday 16 May 2023

Ballina Shire Council is asking all motorists to be vigilant and take care following rainfall over the past 24 hours.

Several roads across the Shire are closed due to flooding, with cautions in place for others.

CLOSED DUE TO FLOODWATERS:

  • Lindendale Road @ Marom Creek
  • Houghlahans Creek Road Causeways
  • Pearces Creek Hall Road @ Pearces Creek
  • Watson’s Lane @ Emigrant Creek

CAUTION WATER OVER ROAD:

  • Ross Lane @ Deadmans Creek
  • Old Bagotville Road, Bagotville
  • Dalwood Road @ Youngmans Creek
  • Dalwood Road @ Gum Creek Weir
  • Friday Hut Road @ Emigrant Creek (Kirklands Crossing)
  • Friday Hut Road @ Emigrant Crossing
  • Boundary Road @ Marom Creek

Ballina Shire Council’s crews check and signpost roads as soon as they are able to, however not all urban roads can be signposted – so please be aware of changing conditions in your local area.

Bin collection service.

Waste collection times may vary in rural areas as drivers use alternate routes to avoid flooded roads.

The Ballina Byron Gateway Airport is open. Please contact airlines for flight information. Flights may be delayed to due weather impacts at other airports.

Burns Point Ferry is operating. Please exercise caution when driving on and off the ferry.
