What is Government’s plan for increasing community care beds?

With almost 1000 active COVID cases now in Tasmania the Premier must explain the plan to expand community care facilities across the state.

Acting Labor Leader and Shadow Health Minister Anita Dow said questions remained over the capacity of current community care facilities and how they will cope with increased demand given the rapid increase in cases to 428 today and expected increases in the days and weeks to come.

“Community care facilities are intended to be a key part of the government’s plan to care for Tasmanians with COVID and it is critical they are adequately resourced and have the capacity required,” Ms Dow said.

“We are now heading towards 1000 active cases of the virus in the state and as demand on community care facilities continues to rise it is important the Premier explains how increasing demand will be met.”
