If you’ve visited Carrington Park in Knoxfield recently, you might have noticed plenty of activity, with exiting upgrades taking shape from one end of the park to the other.
The playground is already a well-enjoyed play space – now there’s even more to do with a new basketball key and outdoor gym right next door. A modern public toilet facility has recently been completed, to provide amenities for families and visitors to the park.
On the other side of the sportsground, work is well underway on a major upgrade of the pavilion. Supported by a $1.8 million Australian Government funding commitment, the upgrade will include female-friendly change rooms, improved disability access, public toilets, meeting spaces, kitchen and kiosk facilities, and dedicated areas for sports clubs and officials.
Looking ahead, the sportsground is also set for renewal to better support soccer, cricket and community use. Proposed works include turf replacement, upgraded drainage and irrigation, new fencing, and synthetic and hybrid turf treatments in high-wear areas to deliver a more reliable playing surface year-round.
These projects represent a significant investment in the future of Carrington Park ensuring it remains a welcoming, accessible and key destination for sport, recreation and community connection for years to come.
