Shoalhaven City Council would like to advise the community of the works scheduled to be undertaken along Wheelbarrow Rd, Morton from May 2020 until October 2020.
The January bushfires resulted in the destruction of Council’s timber bridge over Lucy Kings Creek on Wheelbarrow Road. The reconstruction of the bridge and surrounding road has since begun, with the bridge expected to be completed later this month.
Further to this Council has also commenced construction to provide a 7 metre wide bitumen sealed surface on the remaining unsealed 2 kilometres of Wheelbarrow Rd, this also includes vegetation clearing, earthworks and road widening.
During the construction period a temporary road closure will remain in place with access to Wheelbarrow Road residents maintained via Woodstock Road. Council apologises for the inconvenience caused during this period.
