White Street, Kilmore works resume

Safety and accessibility works will resume on Kilmore’s White Street from Monday 27 July.

White Street, between Allen Street and Green Street, is being upgraded and widened, including the construction of a brand-new shared footpath, to meet Kilmore’s growing population needs.

Drainage pits are being installed while the existing kerb and channel will be replaced. Works are expected to be completed by November, weather permitting.

Works started in March, but some re-design works were necessary because of underground electricity assets.

As part of the Kilmore Structure Plan, White Street was identified as an important local road and the first phase of this upgrade between Lumsden Street and Allen Street was completed in 2019.

The works may cause some minor delays. Local traffic will still be able to move through the area. Council reminds drivers to adhere to traffic management instructions for your safety and the safety of road workers.

The Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery program funded $645,000 of the project. Mitchell Shire Council contributed $285,000 to the upgrades.
