Winners announced in seniors’ photo competition

A photo of friends enjoying the rewards of regional South Australia has won the 2020 Seniors Card Through the Lens photographic competition.

Office for Ageing Well’s Manager of the South Australian Seniors Card program, Evlynn Hayes, said Kay Jamieson was awarded this year’s top prize for her photo showing her friend cheerfully managing a tricky boat-to-boat transfer at Coffin Bay.

“The winning photo was chosen from over 600 entries and will feature on the cover of the 2021 Seniors Card Discount Directory, available to members from December,” Ms Hayes said.

“Through the Lens is Office for Ageing Well’s annual photographic competition for Seniors Card members, celebrating International Day of Older Persons and showcasing and celebrating the skills and creativity of older South Australians.

“The calibre of entries received as part of this year’s competition was truly inspiring and I encourage all South Australians to visit the exhibition and view the great work that will be on display at the City Library in Rundle Mall until Wednesday 28 October.

“The annual exhibition celebrates the creativity and photographic talents of South Australia’s Seniors Card members. It reminds us that learning is life-long and that it is never too late to start a new hobby or renew enthusiasm for an existing one.

“I congratulate all finalists for their creative approach to this competition and the overall winner, Kay Jamieson, for her captivating photo.”
