Woman arrested over stabbing at Elizabeth, South Australia

A woman was arrested after a stabbing at Elizabeth overnight.

Police and paramedics were called to a violent disturbance at a group of flats on Ashfield Road, Elizabeth about 12.40am on Tuesday 4 December.

A 38-year-old Elizabeth man was found with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital by ambulance however his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.

A 39-year-old Elizabeth woman was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated assault. She was refused police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court today.

Northern Districts detectives and crime scene investigators attended the scene overnight.

Police wish to reassure the community that this was not a random incident and that both people are known to each other.
