Woman charged as investigations continue into shooting, NSW

A woman has been charged as investigations continue into a shooting in Sydney’s west overnight.

About 11pm (Saturday 31 July 2021), emergency services were called to a home on Lawson Street, Lalor Park, following reports a man had been shot.

Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and found a 27-year-old man with a wound to his right foot.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. His injury is not considered to be life-threatening.

Police spoke with a man and woman at the scene and were told a third man fled on foot.

A crime scene was established, and police commenced a canvas of the surrounding area with assistance from the Dog Unit and PolAir. The man was not located.

A second crime scene was established at a home on Mitchell Street after a firearm was located behind a shed.

The 27-year-old woman from Blackett was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station where she was charged with possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority and hinder investigation serious indictable offence of other.

Police will allege in court that the woman was found concealing a discarded firearm magazine.

She was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 1 August 2021).
