Woman charged, drugs seized during vehicle stop at Junee, NSW

A woman has been charged and drugs worth more than $100,000 seized following a vehicle stop in the state’s south west.

About 1.15am yesterday (Sunday 17 November 2019) officers attached to Riverina Police District were conducting proactive patrols when they stopped a bronze Mazda SUV for roadside testing on the Olympic Highway at Junee.

Officers allegedly observed two unrestrained children – aged four and eight – asleep on the back seat.

During a search of the vehicle, officers located a large plastic bag – containing ‘ice’ allegedly concealed within the centre console.

The 38-year-old female driver and two men were arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

The men were released pending further inquiries.

The woman has been charged with supply prohibited drug and was refused bail, to appear before Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Monday 18 November 2019).

The children have since been released into the care of a relative.

Police inquiries are continuing.
