A woman has been charged following the alleged break and enter of a home and the theft of jewellery from a store in Sydney’s northwest last week.
On Friday 5 June 2026, officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command commenced an investigation after an alleged break and enter at a home on Thomas Street, Northmead.
Police were told that between 4.30pm on Thursday 4 June 2026 and 11.30am on Friday 5 June 2026, an unknown person entered the home and allegedly stole a carpet cleaner, laundry items, a bicycle helmet and a spare key.
About 11.10pm on Friday, 5 June 2026, police also began investigating a reported theft at a jewellery store located in a shopping centre on Church Street, Parramatta.
Police will allege the woman forced open a jewellery display cabinet and removed multiple items before leaving the store.
Following inquiries, about 5.40pm on Tuesday, 9 June 2026, police executed a search warrant at a home on Eyles Street, Telopea.
During the search, officers allegedly located and seized 46 rings.
A 47-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station, where she was charged with destroy or damage property less than $2,000, and larceny more than $5,000 but less than $15,000.
She was refused bail and appeared before Parramatta Local Court yesterday (Wednesday, 10 June 2026), where bail was formally refused.
She is due to reappear at the same court today (Thursday, 11 June 2026).
