Woman dies after crash at Picton

A woman has died following a crash in Sydney’s south-western outskirts.

Just after midday (Sunday 16 April 2023), emergency services were called to the Hume Motorway, near Picton Road, at Wilton, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from Camden Police Area Command have been told that a car allegedly swerved to avoid another car and rolled.

Despite the efforts of responding police and NSW Ambulance paramedics, the rear passenger of the car that rolled died at the scene.

While she is yet to be formally identified, the woman is believed to be aged in her 20s.

The driver of the car that rolled and the driver of the other vehicle allegedly involved were taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment and for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established, and investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
