Woman dies after single-vehicle crash – Hornsby Heights

A woman has died after a single vehicle crash in Sydney’s north.

About 9.10am yesterday (Tuesday 18 July 2023), emergency services were called to Peter Close at Hornsby Heights, following reports of a crash.

On arrival, officers from Kuring-Gai Police Area Command found a pedestrian, a 69-year-old woman, had been struck by a car.

She was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before she was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition, where police were advised she passed away about 7pm.

The 46-year-old male driver was not injured.

He was arrested at the scene and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for mandatory testing.

He was later taken to Hornsby Police Station before being released pending further inquiries.

A crime scene has been established with the Crash Investigation Unit to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
