Woman dies in hospital after Blackburn collision

A pedestrian has died in hospital after being struck by a car in Blackburn on Wednesday.

It’s understood the woman was crossing traffic lights when she was struck by a white Nissan Patrol, at the intersection of Springfield and Williams roads, about 4.50pm on Wednesday 12 January.

The woman, aged 64 from Mitcham, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but sadly passed away today.

The driver of the Nissan, a 76-year-old Templestowe man, stopped at the scene and was not injured.

He was interviewed and released pending further enquires.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the collision.
