A woman is recovering in hospital after delivering a baby on the M4 in Sydney’s west yesterday afternoon.
About 4.45pm (Thursday 6 August 2020), police attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol responded to reports a woman was giving birth in a car in a breakdown lane on the M4 Western Motorway, Prospect.
The couple was on its way to Blacktown Hospital when their baby girl decided she couldn’t wait any longer.
After calling Triple Zero (000) for assistance, the infant’s father helped deliver his daughter before NSW Ambulance paramedics and police could arrive.
The mother and baby were transferred to Blacktown.
The baby girl is healthy and doing well.
