Woman threatened in home invasion near Wollongong, NSW

Police are investigating after a woman was threatened during a home invasion near Wollongong yesterday.

About 7.15pm (Wednesday 13 July 2022), police were called to a home on Gipps Street, Keiraville, following reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told the front glass door to the home was smashed, before two men – one armed with a firearm and the other, a metal pole – threatened a 38-year-old woman while demanding cash.

The woman refused and they left empty handed, fleeing in a dark-coloured utility with a silver roll bar and black and yellow registration plates.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended and established a crime scene.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing for the public’s help to identify the men.

One has been described as between 180cm-185cm tall, and was wearing a hooded jumper, cargo pants and a face covering. The second male has been described as 170cm-175cm tall, wearing a hooded jumper and ski goggles.
