Women’s Health Week 2022

A social media title with flowers, reading

Women’s Health Week is a nationwide campaign centred on improving the health and wellbeing of women, girls, and gender diverse people.

It’s all about you is the theme for this year’s Women’s Health Week. This is a reminder to set aside time for your health and wellbeing. Make an appointment for a health check, get active, join an event or simply connect with other women. You don’t have to do it alone.

“It may seem absurd, but women need reminding that it’s okay to put themselves first. So often they put the needs of family, friends, even their pets, above their own,” says Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week & Community Engagement Manager Renea Camilleri.

“These seven days will be a perfect opportunity to prioritise their own health.”

Each day of Women’s Health Week features a different focus area:

Day 1, Monday 5th September: Check me out – health checks at every age

Day 2, Tuesday 6th September: Menopause matters – menopause and perimenopause

Day 3, Wednesday 7th September: Pelvic power – pelvic floor health and pelvic pain

Day 4, Thursday 8th September: Mind health – mental wellbeing and brain health

Day 5, Friday 9th September: Move and improve – physical activity and your health.

Yarra Ranges Council supports Women’s Health Week with a reminder to set aside time for your health and wellbeing.

Make an appointment for a health check, get active, connect with others!

Getting active

Yarra Ranges is the perfect location to get active. You can explore one of the recommended Walking Routes, visit a reserve, swimming pool, playground or sports ground, or ride your bike on the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail.

If you are a carer of someone with a disability, consider joining a Pathways for Carers walk in Mt Evelyn or Healesville.
