Wooroloo Firearm Incident Charge

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 35-year-old man in relation to an incident in Wooroloo yesterday, Saturday 4 November 2023, in which a 32-year-old man received a gunshot injury to his head.
About 7:20am, police were notified of an incident on Needham Road, Wooroloo in which it was reported a man had been shot. Police and St John WA personnel attended the scene, where it was confirmed a man had a gunshot wound to his head.
The injured man was flown by the RAC Rescue helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital. Tragically, the man died in hospital today, Sunday 5 November 2023.
A search of the immediate area resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old man. That man has since been charged by Homicide Squad detectives with ‘Murder’. He has been refused bail and is due to appear in Midland Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 6 November 2023.
It has since been established that two men who were seen to run from the area into bushland had attended the scene with the victim, and fled the area on foot after the victim was shot.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and detectives are seeking dash-cam vision showing either the movements of a blue Toyota Rukus wagon, with registration ‘1HZW 926’, or any person seen walking or running on Needham Street, Wooroloo, between Liberton Road and Dinsdale Road, between 7:00am and 8:30am.
