Work commences on Shiralee Road upgrade

A major upgrade of a 500 metre section of road located just around the corner from Philip Shaw winery, next to the new Southcrest housing estate is underway.

Council staff have today been busy removing the road in preparation to make way for the new planned changes. The road will be widened and the preliminary installation of storm water drainage systems is in full swing.

The upgrade will see new kerb and gutters installed along the edge that meets with the new housing development, along with new car parking spaces.

The project is set to be finalised in just eight weeks, weather permitting.

ROAD WORK; Work gets underway South of Orange on Shiralee Road upgrade

While work is underway, the road will be closed throughout the day on weekdays, but will re-open to the public on weekends, again dependent on weather.

Despite road closures, access to Philip Shaw winery is still available via Pinnacle Road, and Council has been in contact with all affected residents to ensure they are still able to enter and exit their properties.
