Works to deliver the highly anticipated Boyne Tannum Aquatic Centre (on Queensland’s south-central coast) are now underway.
The centre will include an eight-lane, 50 metre outdoor heated pool with a retractable shade sail at the shallow end, accessible change rooms, kiosk, barbecues, picnic tables and a locally themed children’s play area.
The Albanese Government has provided $15 million in funding through the Priority Community Infrastructure Program with Gladstone Regional Council providing $15 million towards building the exciting project.
Paynters Pty Ltd will undertake construction of the new aquatic centre at Tannum Sands, southeast of Gladstone.
The project is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
Gladstone Regional Council has also begun community engagement on the future of Gladstone Aquatic Centre’s 50 metre outdoor pool.
