Workforce Innovation Connectors and new grant opportunities now available in Victoria

Disability Workforce Innovation Connectors are now working with providers across regional Victoria, and assisting organisations applying for grants.

Disability Workforce Innovation Connectors are now working with service providers across regional Victoria, and assisting organisations applying for current and impending grant opportunities.

The Connectors listen to a broad range of local stakeholders and capture issues and contributing factors to workforce in the disability space; working on local solutions. They assist organisations to access funding grants, offer workforce tools and resources, and increase relevant workforce data to discover what is and isn’t working for organisations in the current environment.

Regional Workforce Connectors will be running Grant Design Workshops in regional Victoria, which will be advertised shortly (the first workshop is in Benalla on 29 April). These workshops aim to help disability service providers to learn to design projects in a way that will lead to strong workforce innovation and produce development proposals that meet the requirements of funding opportunities and the needs of current and future grant rounds.

A related initiative is the federally-funded Boosting the Local Care Workforce (BLCW) website, which provides a range of resources to assist providers to transition to the NDIS, including an ‘NDIS Demand Map‘. The map provides estimates of participant, workforce and spending amounts by postcode.
