After the success of the New Business Strategic Connector Event comes The Hills Shire Council’s How to Series.
The exciting new series is made up of nine face-to-face workshops aimed at helping new and established business owners understand the fundamentals of social media, marketing and business planning.
The first mini-series will focus on social media marketing, with the workshop, The Ins and Outs of Social Media for Business, scheduled on Tuesday, April 12. This workshop will be FREE to local business owners.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi said this was Council’s way of supporting local businesses to succeed after such a challenging time.
“It’s been particularly tough for our business community who have had to endure fires, the COVID-19 pandemic and two major flooding disasters,” Mayor Gangemi said.
“Now that we are recovering from both the pandemic and natural disasters, Council wants to help our business community to adapt, grow and showcase their business to a wider audience through the How to Series.
“We want to see our small businesses succeeding locally and further afar, as well as understanding the secrets to social media marketing, which will help to create awareness of the many businesses available here in The Hills Shire.
“Small businesses are the backbone of this community and the economy, and if we can keep businesses doing what they do best, then we can keep more people employed and residents and families supported,” Mayor Gangemi added.
The first mini-series of workshops include:
  • The Ins and Outs of Social Media for Business – 12 April 2022;
  • Mastering Facebook Advertising – 26 April 2022; and
  • Instagram for Business Success – 10 May 2022.
Each of the workshops will be held at Council’s Administration Building at 3 Columbia Court, Norwest from 10am to noon.
In addition to this, Council is planning to hold a second New Business Strategic Connector Event in September.
“We had a fantastic turnout, with more than 80 new businesses attending the March 15 event, and learning about what support is available to them locally and through State Government agencies” Mayor Gangemi said.
“As the name suggests, our New Business Strategic Connector event aims to connect small business to local networking groups, to Council’s Economic Development Team and with other likeminded people who are on the same journey as them.
