Wounding investigation at Hermit Park, QLD

Townsville detectives are investigating after a 17-year-old boy sustained a laceration to his head during an altercation at Hermit Park last night (January 26).

Preliminary information suggests the teen was with friends in Surrey Street at around 10.15pm when a male and female walked past, with the male making comments to the group.

This escalated into a physical altercation during which time the boy was struck in the head and shoulder with a broken bottle.

The male and female fled on foot before getting into a white Toyota which was parked nearby.

The boy was transported to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries.

The male is described as approximately 185cms tall with a thin build, fair complexion and ‘orangish’ hair cut in an undercut style. He was wearing a grey shirt and shorts.

The female is described as thin, with a fair complexion and wearing a black top and black jeans.

Police are appealing for the pair to contact police, and anyone with any information is urged to contact police.
