Wounding investigation, South Brisbane 27 December

Police have declared a crime scene in a park on Little Stanley Street in South Brisbane, after two men were allegedly stabbed during an altercation with a group of 10 to 15 people.

Initial investigations indicate the 18-year-old and 25-year-old brothers were in the company of a female when they became involved in a minor disturbance with the group.

It’s believed the group are not known to the three, however during the disturbance, a man in the group allegedly produced a knife and stabbed the older brother in the abdomen and the younger in the upper leg.

The woman was not physically harmed.

Police conducted extensive patrols of the area, however were unable to locate the group.

Both brothers were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the alleged attack, or who may have been driving through the area and have relevant dash camera footage, to contact them.

Investigations are ongoing.
