Wyndham’s first Large Grant round within the new Community Grants Program is now open for applications, closing at 3pm on Wednesday 20 October 2021.
The Large Grant round allows applications for funding of up to $40,000 for not-for-profit organisations and Wyndham-based community groups, including those with an auspice.
Mayor Councillor Adele Hegedich said: “Successful recipients of our Large Grants will encourage group participation in community life, which enhances the livability, health and wellbeing of Wyndham’s community – something we all value deeply.”
The grant program offers simple and broad funding streams, allowing community the opportunity to develop and lead innovative projects that will further support and strengthen community-led action.
Successful candidates’ values and objectives will align with the Wyndham 2040 Community Vision and other council strategies which will ultimately support Wyndham’s ongoing Covid-19 recovery.
Group initiatives will aim to improve community life by involving themselves in cultural events and activities, health, wellbeing and safety projects and environmental protection.
“Up to $40,000 can make a major impact on not just the community group involved, but the rest of Wyndham too. This Large Grant round will benefit our community for many more years to come,” Cr Hegedich said.
In this everchanging environment, it is encouraged that applicants are able to provide contingency options for the delivery of projects with online adaptations.
Wyndham’s Community Pathway Scholarships is also currently open for applications, as well as Wyndham’s Small Grant round which opens for application monthly.
