Y NSW selected OSHC provider for Carlingford West Public School

The Y NSW is thrilled to announce it has been selected as the Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) provider for Carlingford West Public School.

The Y team has been working hard behind the scenes and will begin serving the Carlingford school community on Monday 30 May.

Families can look forward to a smooth transition and the Ys highly qualified educators are looking forward to welcoming everyone and providing their high quality of care.

The profit-for-purpose organisation can now offer holistic wellbeing for the Carlingford community, with the nearby Y Epping recreation centre already making a positive impact for residents of all ages.

The Y delivers Before and After School Care services to for more than 10,000 children, across 55 locations in NSW. Carlingford West represents the largest OSHC service the organisation has operated to date at school premises.

Y NSW Chief Executive Officer Susannah Le Bron said the organisation has been supporting communities for nearly 170 years and is committed to providing a safe and stimulating learning environment for the children of Carlingford West.

“The Y’s core mission is to inspire and empower young people and we are excited to be expanding our services in the Carlingford community,” said Ms Le Bron.

“Diversity and inclusion are at the heart of who we are, and our team understands the benefits of high-quality care and the difference it can make in a family’s life.”

The Y will bring Before and After School Care and Vacation Care services to the Carlingford community – and a commitment to providing safe and enriching places for children to have inspired minds and active bodies.

Programs have been developed to encourage children to be involved in interesting and exciting play experiences, and to explore their natural talents and potential.

The Y NSW aims to inspire all children to engage in a healthy and active lifestyle. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served each day in accordance with government-recommended healthy eating guidelines. Children are also encouraged to participate in outdoor active play.

An exciting and fun Vacation Care program is also offered during each school holiday period, with a wide range of activities, day camps and workshops within the centre for children to look forward to.

Experienced educators tailor programs for each child based on the My Time, Out Place framework and children can take part in a range of leisure and play-based activities including team sports, dance and music, indoor discussions, arts and crafts, cooking and more. Homework is also encouraged.

The Y NSW ensure all educators satisfy regulatory requirements and work to best practices by providing regular professional development.

They also undertake child protection training as part of our commitment to child safeguarding through our accreditation with the Australian Childhood Foundation.
