Yarra City Council, with the leadership of our newly created Yarra Youth Advocacy group, will be running its first Youth Forum on Saturday 3 December.

Yarra Youth Advocacy is a group of ten young people tasked with hosting forums and workshops that provide insights to Council and other key decision makers on how to best support young people who live, work or study in the City of Yarra.

This diverse cohort was created after an expression of interest process in August this year.

The Yarra Youth Forum will be the group’s biggest workshop to date. It is open to all Yarra residents under the age of 25 and is an opportunity for our younger residents to share their key priorities and ideas for Yarra.

The insights from the forum will inform the advocacy priorities of the Yarra Youth Advocacy Group. With these, the group will be able to advocate for greater outcomes for Yarra’s young people at both a local and state level.

The feedback will also be used in a formal submission to help inform Yarra’s 2023/24 Budget.

The details of the forum are below:

  • Date: Saturday 3 December
  • Time: 2pm to 5pm
  • Location: Yarra Youth Services – 156 Napier Street, Fitzroy
  • Lunch will be provided.

If you know someone who would be interested, have them register using the link below before Friday 2 December. People who register receive a free bubble tea.
