Yarra waives all outdoor dining fees until October

Yarra City Council has today announced a further $328,000 in additional support for local businesses by waiving all footpath trading and parklet fees until October 2021.

The fee waiver builds on Council’s support for local business during the COVID -19 response and recovery, including $2.4 million in direct grants, fee waivers and refunds.

Yarra Mayor Cr Gabrielle de Vietri said Council understood that the impacts of COVID-19 continued to be felt strongly by many.

“We have listened to our business community and we have responded, and acted quickly,” Mayor de Vietri said.

“Council has now waived all fees associated with outdoor dining since the pandemic began.”

“This response demonstrates our willingness to continue supporting businesses and do what we can to ensure they can weather the ongoing impact of the pandemic.”

Yarra City Council has so far provided more than $8 million dollars of funding and other relief measures to ensure local businesses are supported during COVID-19 and in the post pandemic recovery.
