Young Victorians To Shape Future

VIC Premier

Labor is putting young people at the centre of decisions that affect them.

Minister Grigorovitch announced the 2026 Victorian Youth Congress today.

The Victorian Youth Congress is made up of 20 members aged 12 to 25 who are ready to shape government policy.

They don’t just advise – they deliver events and strategies.

Last year, members ran a Youth Strategy Forum at Parliament, bringing together more than 70 young people with sector leaders.

They designed a communications campaign to help YouthNav reach more people.

Members also travelled to regional Victoria to hear firsthand from young people about feeling safe in their identity.

Two members then took these insights to Canberra, representing Victoria at the 2026 National Youth Forum.

The group also supports delivery of Labor’s five-year Youth Strategy – Our Promise, Your Future.

Members reflect the diversity of Victoria, including metropolitan and regional Victorians, First Nations, LGBTIQA+, multicultural and multifaith communities and people living with disability.

As stated by Minister for Youth Luba Grigorovitch

“Labor is backing the next generation of leaders.”

“Young people deserve a real seat at the table – and that’s exactly what Victorian Youth Congress gives them.”
