Your Guide To Next Chapter Of Big Bash In Victoria

Cricket Victoria has released an information booklet to help our cricket community understand the Big Bash privatisation process and what it could mean for the game’s future in Victoria.

The booklet gives fans, members, community players and volunteers, aspiring players and commercial partners clear information on why private investment is being introduced, how the process will work and what to expect over the coming months.

Following approval from Cricket Australia, the Melbourne Renegades are the first Big Bash club to enter the equity investment process. Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria are seeking the right long-term partner to help strengthen the Renegades, bring new investment and capability into the club and support the continued growth of Victorian and Australian cricket.

Cricket Victoria understands that change brings questions. The booklet explains the changing global cricket landscape, the options considered, the proposed ownership models and the safeguards needed to protect club identity, competition integrity and the broader interests of Victorian cricket.

The ambition is simple: to build stronger clubs, create an even better experience for players and supporters, and ensure the Big Bash remains a major part of the Australian summer for many years to come.
