Youth encouraged to apply for public service roles

Participant smiling at camera with clipboardThe Victorian Government’s Working for Victoria Youth Employment Program (YEP) will create jobs for young Victorians across government departments and agencies, including the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions.

The young jobseekers will be employed in roles across the department including with Agriculture Victoria and the Victorian Small Business Commission, and will be able to work remotely in metropolitan and regional locations.

Each participant will be provided with appropriate training over 6 to 12 months and in the last two months of their placement, will be mentored and supported into their next employment opportunity.

The program is open to Victorians who are:

  • aged between 17 and 29 years at the time of application
  • unemployed
  • eligible to be employed by the Victorian Government.
