Logan police have charged a 16-year-old Slacks Creek boy with multiple burglary and driving offences after investigating a string of alleged break-and-enters on homes across south east Queensland.
Police will allege between June 6 and June 30 the boy entered, or attempted to enter, multiple residences in suburbs including Ormeau Hills, Stretton, Parkinson, Springwood, Morningside, Camp Hill, Chelmer and Twin Waters.
In many of the alleged break-ins the boy allegedly removed car keys from the residence and left in the victim’s car. Other items alleged to have been stolen include handbags, wallets, bank cards, jewellery and a small amount of cash.
He has been charged with 14 counts of unlawful use of motor vehicle, 11 counts of burglary, three counts of enter premises, three counts of receiving tainted property, three counts of attempted enter dwelling, two counts of stealing, two counts of attempted unlawful use of motor vehicle, and one count of attempted fraud
Vehicles alleged to have been stolen in the incidents include a grey Mercedes Benz sedan and a silver Mercedes Benz wagon, a black Lexus sedan, a white Alfa Romeo hatchback, a black BMW four-wheel-drive and a white BMW sedan, a silver Mitsubishi sedan, a white Mitsubishi four-wheel-drive and a black Mitsubishi utility, a red Subaru hatchback, a white Volvo four-wheel-drive, a black Land Rover four-wheel-drive and two white Hyundai hatchbacks.
Seven of the alleged stolen vehicles were located without major damage. Two of the vehicles were located with significant damage, and four vehicles – the Mitsubishi utility, BMW four-wheel-drive, Subaru sedan and Land Rover four-wheel-drive are yet to be located.
The boy will appear in the Beenleigh Children’s Court.
