- 38 young people, youth workers and youth organisations named as finalists in the 2023 WA Youth Awards
- 129 nominations received across ten award categories
- The 2023 WA Youth Award winners will be announced at a ceremony on 27 October
Youth Minister Simone McGurk has announced the 38 finalists in the 2023 WA Youth Awards which recognises young people, youth workers and youth organisations from across Western Australia.
The WA Youth Awards were established in 1999 to recognise the achievements and contributions of young Western Australians, and the positive impacts they have had on their community.
The Awards also reward outstanding youth groups and organisations that support the State’s young people.
This year there were 129 nominations received from across the 10 award categories.
Award winners, including the WA Young Person of the Year, will be announced at the WA Youth Awards gala ceremony at the WA Museum Boola Bardip on Friday 27 October.
The 10 award categories include the Minister for Youth’s Most Outstanding Youth Worker Award and the Commissioner for Children and Young People Participate Award.
Category winners receive a $1,000 prize and the WA Young Person of the Year will receive a $10,000 bursary to go toward a youth-related initiative or activity across WA.
The awards are a partnership between the Department of Communities and the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia, with support from Lotterywest.
