2024 welcomed in City with bang

A huge night of New Year’s Eve offerings in the City of Light resulted in the biggest NYE in a decade. The City was alive with something for everyone.

Up to 50 thousand people flocked to multiple locations to enjoy the variety of celebrations presented by Roy Hill, including the spectacular 8pm Elizabeth Quay Fireworks. In only its second year, the family-friendly event, alongside the Elizabeth Quay Funfair, has become the go-to New Year’s Eve event for families.

Revellers also watched the Elizabeth Quay and Northbridge firework displays from vantage points at Kings Park, South Perth and Langley Park.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas and his family were among the attendees at Elizabeth Quay.

“What an incredible way to see out an exciting year,” Mr Zempilas said.

“Elizabeth Quay was absolutely pumping, with thousands coming together to celebrate – it was quite the sight!

“Thank you to those huge crowds for being so well behaved and respectful, making it the perfect family-friendly event.

“A massive thanks also goes to Cardile for two fantastic firework displays at Elizabeth Quay at 8pm and Northbridge at midnight. They are getting bigger and better every year.

“And, of course, thank you to Roy Hill for partnering with the City of Perth on this celebratory occasion.”
