The next generation of farmers and rural workers in western Victoria will soon have access to upgraded learning and students facilities thanks to the Victorian Government.
Minister for Training and Skills and Higher Education Gayle Tierney today visited Longerenong Agricultural College, located near Horsham, to announce a $2 million funding boost that will ensure that students can continue to gain the skills and training they need locally.
The upgrades will see Longerenong College refurbish an agri-business centre that includes student classrooms, an auditorium, a computer laboratory, and a student resource centre.
Longerenong’s student amenities will also be upgraded to create one multi-functional facility.
The demand for skilled workers will increase as the state’s economy responds to and recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. That’s why the Government is investing in sustainable skills development to support the agricultural sector.
This funding boost is part of the Government’s $2.6 billion Delivering for Regional and Rural Victorians Program, ensuring that every community and every corner of our state shares in Victoria’s success, while also creating 4,500 jobs.
