  • Under our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, a re-elected majority Rockliff Liberal Government will invest $50,000 for a business case to help explore the Mountain Bike Wielangta Trail Project from Orford to Kellevie.

Liberal Candidate for Lyons, Jane Howlett said that mountain biking is recognised as one of Tasmania’s premiere tourism offerings and much loved past times.

“We have a Strong Plan for our regional communities – and an important component is ensuring that they can deliver the best of what Tasmania has to offer to locals and tourists alike,” Ms Howlett said.

“Mountain biking attracts people from far and wide, and the proposed 70 kilometres of trails will bring considerable benefits for the entire East Coast community.

“You only have to look at the roaring success of the Red Bull Hardline Australian debut in Maydena recently to understand just how significant this investment could be.

“Only a re-elected Rockliff Liberal Government has a 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future to provide stronger regions and enhanced recreational opportunities for Tasmanians.”
