Additional CCTV released as investigations continue into attempted sexual assault at Petersham, NSW

Police have released additional CCTV and images as they continue their investigations into an attempted sexual assault in Sydney’s inner west earlier this month.

About 1.30am on Thursday 4 April 2019, a 27-year-old woman was standing on the corner of Terminus Street, Petersham, when she was approached by an unknown man.

Police have been told the man forced himself onto the woman and attempted to sexually assault her.

The woman pushed him away and walked down Crystal Lane West, the man followed her.

The man pushed the woman to the ground and indecently assaulted her before running away.

Officers from Inner West Police Area Command were contacted and attended the scene and commenced an investigation.

Detectives have released additional images of a man they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. He is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance with an olive complexion, aged between 20 and 30, with a slim build, and a cropped beard.

He is depicted wearing a black polo shirt with a red collar, red vertical stripes on the sides, and a crest on the right breast, as well as cuffed tracksuit pants, a backwards dark trucker hat, and bright red New Balance joggers with a white ‘N’ on the sides.

Investigators are urging anyone with information that may assist inquiries to come forward immediately.
