Additional charges laid after man shot in Clyde

Additional charges have been laid against a man after another man was shot in Sydney’s west this week.

Emergency services were called to Berry Street, Clyde just before 5pm on Monday (7 January 2019), after reports of a shooting.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command attended and found a 48-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to his foot.

Police have been told the man had been involved in an altercation prior to being shot.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Two men – aged 22 and 25 – were arrested at the time and charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The younger man was also charged with common assault.

A second 22-year-old man was charged with affray.

Following inquiries, the Chester Hill man was rearrested at Granville Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 9 January 2019) and has now been charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and breach of bail.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 10 January 2019).
