Additional charges have now been laid after a passenger died in hospital following a crash in Sydney’s west earlier this month.
Emergency Services were called to the intersection of Sunnyholt Road and James Cook Drive at Kings Langley, just after 8.40am on Saturday 7 July 2019, after a Nissan Micra and a Lexus collided.
Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command attended and performed CPR on female passenger in the Nissan Micra.
The 79-year-old woman was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The Nissan driver, a 45-year-old woman was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. She also underwent mandatory testing.
The Lexus driver, a 51-year-old man, was uninjured.
Following inquiries, officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation and charged the 45-year-old woman on Monday 8 July 2019.
On Thursday 18 July 2019, police were advised the 79-year-old woman died in hospital.
The woman is next due to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 29 July 2019 and is now facing five charges, being dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm and not stop at stop line at red light, dangerous driving occasioning death, and negligent driving occasioning death.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
