Additional charges laid as part of investigation into fatal stabbing – Campbelltown

Police have laid additional charges as part of an ongoing investigation into a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s south-west earlier this year.

Strike Force Tapaulin was established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing of a NSW Ambulance paramedic at Campbelltown on Friday 14 April 2023.

A man, then aged 21, was arrested and charged with murder; he remains before the courts.

As part of the ongoing investigation, strike force detectives identified three prior incidents that are alleged to have occurred at Blair Athol, Ingleburn and Raby on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 April 2023.

Strike force detectives arrested a 22-year-old man at Macquarie Fields Police Station on Thursday 27 July 2023. He was remanded in custody.

He was charged common assault, destroy or damage property, armed with intent, two counts of attempted wounding with intent, and stealing.

The man will face Campbelltown Local Court today (Wednesday 6 September 2023).
