  • Prices begin at $132,000, creating opportunities for affordable housing
  • Four lots have been allocated for future public housing
  • Civil works now underway by local contractor
  • A new land release at Albany’s Clydesdale Park estate is set to expand the range of housing options within the Great Southern region.

Stage 2 at the DevelopmentWA residential estate features 31 lots priced from $132,000, responding to strong market demand for quality affordable housing in the Albany area.

The lots are sized from 474 to 759 square kilometres, offering flexibility for a range of buyers.

Four of the lots will also be set aside to deliver future social housing in the Albany region.

Civil works to deliver Stage 2 are now underway. After a competitive tender process taking place late last year, local contractor Nigel Palmer Earthmoving was appointed to undertake the works, which reflects the State Government’s commitment to utilise local businesses to deliver regional projects.

Stage 2 titles are expected to be available in late 2022.

Located in McKail, a north-western suburb of Albany, Clydesdale Park is minutes away from schools, sporting complexes, health facilities and shopping centres.

The estate offers a mix of cottage and traditional lots designed to suit a range of budgets, with buyers able to benefit from generous building incentives and flexible build times.

A limited number of Stage 1 cottage lots remain available at Clydesdale Park with prices starting from $85,000.

As stated by Lands Minister John Carey:

“Our Government understands the critical need for more affordable and diverse housing options across our State, including in major regional locations like Albany.

“Significant work is currently underway to prepare for the release of Stage 2 at Clydesdale Park later this year, which will deliver a much-needed boost to affordable housing options in Albany.

“Importantly, there will be four lots allocated for the delivery of future social housing in Albany, which will be critical to supporting more vulnerable families in the region.

“This estate offers residents a fantastic opportunity to build in one of WA’s fastest growing areas with a range of family-friendly and high-quality amenities nestled around some of the most beautiful coastline our State has to offer.

“Our Government will continue to invest in regional growth and engage local businesses on these projects, ensuring support for regional economies as well as communities.”

As stated by Albany MLA Rebecca Stephens:

“There is a significant amount of work underway in Albany to deliver a boost in housing and the release of more land in the Clydesdale Park estate will continue to drive those efforts.

“Importantly, our Government continues to engage local businesses and industry, which is supporting the Albany and Great Southern region’s economy.

“It’s also important that we continue to look at ways of expanding the availability of social housing in our region, so to have a number of lots set aside within this latest release is critical.”
