Aggravated armed robbery at Lauderdale

Police are seeking public assistance to identify the men responsible for an armed robbery at the Foreshore Tavern, Lauderdale in the early hours of this morning.

Just before 2am two men entered the premises and threatened a male staff member who was on site. One of the men was in possession of a long arm firearm that had been cut down or reduced in size.

The offenders forced the staff member to open a safe and a significant amount of cash was stolen. The staff member did not sustain any physical injuries but was tied up before the offenders fled the scene.

The offenders are described as:

Male 1

  • Blue hooded jumper with white logo
  • Black baseball cap with white logo
  • Black track pants
  • 180 – 185cms tall
  • Slim build

Male 2

  • Black hooded jumper
  • Dark trousers
  • 170-175cms tall
  • Slim-medium build

Detective Inspector Doug Rossiter, of Bellerive CIB has urged anyone with information to come forward.

“Anyone who recognises the offenders or has any information should do the right thing and contact police,” he said.

“Any person who assists the men responsible to conceal evidence or avoid apprehension may find themselves being charged with being an accessory after the fact.”
