Aggravated Armed Robbery Charge – Forrestfield

Midland Detectives have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery incident in Forrestfield on Thursday 16 September 2021.

About 11pm the victim, a 40-year-old man, was in his parked white Mitsubishi Outlander in a carpark situated at a shopping precinct on Hale Road, when a man approached him and attempted to take his vehicle.

It will be alleged the man attempted to remove the victim from the vehicle, leading to a physical struggle between the man and the victim. During the incident the victim received several injuries, including injuries consistent with stab wounds.

It will be further alleged the accused attempted to drive off in the victim’s vehicle, but after reversing the vehicle a short distance, members of the public came to the victim’s assistance and the man exited the vehicle and ran off.

The victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Yesterday afternoon, Friday 17 September 2021, detectives arrested a 24-year-old man at his residence in Huntingdale. He has since been charged with:

– Aggravated Armed Robbery

– Unlawful Wounding

– Stealing

– Steal Motor Vehicle

He was refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Saturday 18 September 2021.
