An old dental clinic in Yeronga has been transformed into a state-of-the-art administration and learning centre for Yeronga State School thanks to an $11 million Palaszczuk Government investment delivering on a 2020 election commitment.

The school community was joined by local member for Miller Mark Bailey and Education Minister Grace Grace for the official opening of the new centre, which was designed to cater for enrolment growth.

The refurbishment has delivered nine new classrooms for Year 2 and 3 students and two flexible learning spaces.

Adding to the transformation is a new ‘Curiosity Centre’ STEAM learning space – a creative space that will enhance the school’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics curriculum.

The project has also added a new administration area, seminar spaces for professional development, and new amenities, as well as a lift for accessibility.

Delivered by Kane Constructions, 30 jobs were supported across the life of the project, with 17 apprentices and two trainees learning their trade on site.

The delivery of this project for Yeronga State School is a demonstration of the Palaszczuk Government’s commitment to make sure all Queensland students have access to a world-class education in state-of-the-art facilities.

The Palaszczuk Government has invested almost $2 billion in education infrastructure in the most recent budget alone, supporting almost 4,200 good, secure jobs for Queenslanders.
