Annual Road Spray Sealing program begins

Bass Coast Shire Council’s Annual Urban and Rural Road Spray Sealing program commences from 21 November, which will take up to 3 weeks to complete, affecting road networks across the shire.

Council has engaged Fulton Hogan Industries Pty Ltd to complete the works, as part of the 2022-23 Capital works program. This project is fully funded by Council in the order of $730,000 which includes all recent preparation works such as kerb, channel and pit renewal, as well as asphalt block patching, as required for the nominated streets.

Council contractors will advise each property affected by road spray sealing works via letter drop, generally within 2 days’ notice of activity. The program will be completed under traffic control with minimal delays and restrictions. To minimise disruptions and allow the successful completion of works, affected landowners are asked to not park their motor vehicles on the road during works.

Access to properties will be maintained, although short delays may occur. Noise from plant and machinery – including rollers, bitumen spraying equipment and truck delivery of works materials to site – will also occur.

Council advises that all works are subject to contractor availability, favourable weather conditions, and therefore may need rescheduling. We appreciate that these works may present an inconvenience and we have asked for everyone’s patience during these times. Our contractor will make every effort to minimise disruptions during construction.
