Innovative environmental program My Smart Garden has picked up another major accolade, winning a Premier’s Sustainability Award.
My Smart Garden won the Thriving Environment – Community Champion award for its ability to help and encourage residents to transform their outdoor spaces into functional and productive gardens.
Eleven councils – Hobsons Bay, Brimbank, Stonnington, Maribyrnong, Merri-bek, Moonee Valley, Yarra, Glen Eira, Boroondara, Port Phillip and Wyndham – collaborate to deliver My Smart Garden.
The free program provides resources to help grow food, habitat and shelter, while staying healthy, cutting grocery bills and meeting neighbours. It helps teach everyone from expert green thumbs to novice gardeners how to make the most of their garden, even if you’re renting or have limited space.
